Position Title: Event Manager
Work Schedule: 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, with nights and weekends, as needed based on event schedule
Work Type: Hybrid (some remote, but required on-site attendance for all events)

The Downtown Arts District (DAD) is seeking a passionate and organized Event Manager to join our team!
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual to oversee the planning and execution of 3rd Thursday Orlando, storefront installations and other signature events produced by DAD. In this role, the individual will play a pivotal role in bringing the events to life, ensuring a successful and memorable experience for artists, attendees, and sponsors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Concept Development & Programming: Collaborate with DAD’s Executive Director and Operations & Events Manager to curate a diverse, and engaging programs that involve visual artists, performing artists, and arts engagement opportunities for the public
- Artist Relations: Manage artist curating, artist participation, and artist contracts. Provide clear communication and support to artists throughout the event process.
- Venue Management: Secure and manage the participating venues, ensuring they meet all event needs, as well as safety and accessibility requirements.
- Vendor Management: Source and contract with vendors for various services including catering, rentals (tents, furniture, etc.), waste disposal, and security (as needed).
- Marketing & Promotion: In collaboration with the Executive Director, Marketing Assistant, and outside branding agency, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote 3rd Thursday and other events to artists, attendees, and sponsors. This may include social media campaigns, press releases, website content creation, and collaborating with public relations specialists.
- Logistics & Operations: Oversee all logistical aspects of the events, including artist set-up and break-down, volunteer coordination, artist hospitality, signage, tables, tents, chairs, stage, lighting, sound, and waste management.
- Budget Management: Create and manage the events’ budgets, tracking all expenses and ensuring adherence to financial goals.
- Event Day Management: Lead the on-site team to ensure the smooth running of the events. Be prepared to troubleshoot any issues that may arise and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Post-Event Evaluation: Gather feedback from artists, attendees, and sponsors. Analyze data and metrics to measure the success of the festival and identify areas for improvement for future events.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Event Management, Arts Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in event planning and execution, with a focus on arts and cultural events a plus.
- Strong understanding of Central Florida’s visual and performing arts scene
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Budget management and financial tracking experience
- Proficient in project management tools , Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Ability to meet deadlines as established
- Have a passion for promoting artistic expression
- Execute the physical requirements of all the work listed above alone when necessary and with assistance when possible
- Ability to lift 30 lbs unaided and 60 lbs with assistance
- Valid FL driver’s license
