A Program of the Downtown Arts District
About the Project
Downtown Arts District and CityArts are held a three-day mural festival on September 19, 20, and 2, 2024.
On September 19 at our monthly 3rd Thursday event. We kicked off the first annual mural festival.
Selected Muralists individually painted 8 x 8 walls on Magnolia Ave and at Heritage Square, artists paint live in front of peers who cheered them on.
The festival picked up on Friday September 20 at 4:30 PM. Muralist continued working on their murals during live music by various DJ's.
The mural teams were randomly selected and comprised of 2 teams of 6 muralist each.
The muralists had 90 minutes to come up with a theme and complete their murals.
The audience cast the deciding vote for the team winner.
On Saturday September 21, starting at 11:00 am the murals once again were placed in Heritage square for the public to view and purchase. Muralists were there adding finishing touches to their murals and selling their prints and other items. This event ended at 4:00 PM.
Join us for the second annual Mural Festival in 2025.
